AGENDA:
Iran - Iraq War of 1986

The United Nations Security Council is one of the primary organs of the United Nations and is commissioned with perpetuating peace and international security. It comprises of 15 member, where 10 function as non-permanent members for a period of 2 years, while five,China,France,Russia and United Kingdom, and the United States, serve as permanent members accredited with veto powers.

The Security Council takes the forefront in discerning the presence of a threat to the world peace or act of aggression. It calls upon the parties involved in the dispute to settle it by peaceful means and recommends methods of mutual settlement. In certain situations, the Security Council can resort to cutting off diplomatic ties and impose international sanctions or even permit the use of force to restore international amity and security.

Joint Crisis Committee


An unconventional committee in its own right, the Joint Crisis Cabinet will function as a crisis committee with real time updates. The committee will be divided into 2 subcommittees - the USA Cabinet and the USSR Cabinet. Invite only.

UNHRC (School)


AGENDA:
Combating gender and sexual identity based discrimination.
To probe the working conditions of migrants in the Middle East.

“All victims of human rights abuses should be able to look to the Human Rights Council as a forum and a springboard for action.“ – Ban Ki-moon, UN Secretary General, 2007.

The Human Rights Council is an organ which handles human rights violations in different parts of the globe. The UN-member nations try to collectively find amicable solutions for the problems and work in order to prevent them from even coming into existence in the first place. Although there are many different cultures and aspects which shall be valued, there are universal basic rights such as, but not limited to, right to life, right to freedom, right to subsistence level and right to religious freedom which are supposed to be granted to all human beings without discrimination.The Council is made up of 47 United Nations Member States which are elected by the UN General Assembly.

DISEC


AGENDA:
To assess the political unrest in the Strait of Hormuz leading to trade instability in the region.
To discuss the need and possibility of a demilitarized zone in the Middle East

The Disarmament and International Security Committee is the the very first committee of the General Assembly, formed in 1945, DISEC, is deputed to advice on vital matters of international security and disarmament, and serves as a convention for the international community to discourse matters pertaining to creating and maintaining global security and amity. Since its inception, DISEC has dealt with dangers to international security in places all over the world. Moreover, agreements in the DISEC has lead to the formation of nearly all international treaties regarding disarmament. DISEC's primary role is in preserving and ensuring global security as well as its numerous recommendations for peacekeeping missions to the UN Security Council are vital for the international community.

Lok Sabha


AGENDA:
Reviewing the scope of accountability and transparency of the Electoral Bond Scheme 2018.
Discussing the establishment of the chaibagaan time zone

The Lok Sabha or House of the People is the lower house of India's bicameral Parliament, with the upper house being the Rajya Sabha. Members of the Lok Sabha are elected by adult universal suffrage and a first-past-the-post system to represent their respective constituencies, and they hold their seats for five years or until the body is dissolved by the President on the advice of the council of ministers. The house meets in the Lok Sabha Chambers of the Sansad Bhavan in New Delhi.

The maximum strength of the House allotted by the Constitution of India is 552. Currently, the house has 545 seats which is made up by the election of up to 543 elected members and at a maximum, 2 nominated members of the Anglo-Indian Community by the President of India. A total of 131 seats (24.03%) are reserved for representatives of Scheduled Castes (84) and Scheduled Tribes (47). The quorum for the House is 10% of the total membership. The Lok Sabha, unless sooner dissolved, continues to operate for five years from the date appointed for its first meeting. However, while a proclamation of emergency is in operation, this period may be extended by Parliament by law

Addressing workplace inequality with respect to unequal pay and occupational segregation.
Discussing ways to inculcate a culture of female participation in the political sphere.

The Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) is the principal global intergovernmental body exclusively dedicated to the promotion of gender equality and the empowerment of women. A functional commission of the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), it was established by ECOSOC resolution 11(II) of 21 June 1946.

The CSW is instrumental in promoting women’s rights, documenting the reality of women’s lives throughout the world, and shaping global standards on gender equality and the empowerment of women

IMF


AGENDA:
To discuss measures against the sovereign manipulation of international monetary system.
To assess the economic impact and ramifications of Crypto currency on global trade.

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) is an organization of 189 countries, working to foster global monetary cooperation, secure financial stability, facilitate international trade, promote high employment and sustainable economic growth, and reduce poverty around the world.

Created in 1945, the IMF is governed by and accountable to the 189 countries that make up its near-global membership. The IMF's primary purpose is to ensure the stability of the international monetary system—the system of exchange rates and international payments that enables countries (and their citizens) to transact with each other. The Fund's mandate was updated in 2012 to include all macroeconomic and financial sector issues that bear on global stability.

CSTD


AGENDA:
To discuss utilization of Big Data for promotion of renewable energy.
To discuss data privacy laws and potential misuse of private data by governments and non-government firms.

The Commission on Science and Technology for Development is a subsidiary organization of the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations. Formed in 1992, the CSTD has provided the General Assembly and ECOSOC with sophisticated insight on relevant issues through policy recommendations. It serves as the UN’s forum for discussion of science and technology, the Commission aims to develop goals and policy to promote progress throughout the world, especially in developing nations.The CSTD has focused on newly emerging technologies, establishing infrastructure to foster development, and promoting employment in newly forming sectors of the economy.

NSG


AGENDA:
To discuss the participation of Non-NPT States in NSG
To discuss the efficient processing of government to government assurances for arms (GTGA)

The Nuclear Suppliers Group is a group of nuclear supplier countries that seeks to contribute to the nonproliferation of nuclear weapons through the implementation of two sets of Guidelines for nuclear exports and nuclear-related exports. The NSG first met in November 1975 in London, and is thus popularly referred to as the “London Club” (“Club de Londres”).

NSG members pursue the aims of the NSG through adherence to NSG Guidelines that are adopted by consensus, and through an exchange of information, notably on developments of nuclear proliferation concern.
The NSG Guidelines aim to ensure that nuclear trade for peaceful purposes does not contribute to the proliferation of nuclear weapons or other nuclear explosive devices, while not hindering international trade and cooperation in the nuclear field. The NSG Guidelines facilitate the development of peaceful nuclear trade by providing the means whereby obligations to facilitate peaceful nuclear cooperation can be implemented in a manner consistent with international nuclear nonproliferation norms. NSG members commit themselves to conditions of supply, in the context of the further development of the applications of nuclear energy for peaceful purposes.

The Fourth Committee of the United Nations General Assembly is the Special Political and Decolonization Committee. The committee was initially bifurcated into two separate committees: the Decolonization Committee and the Special Political Committee. The committee consists of all 193 Member States, all with the intention of helping previously colonized developing countries decrease their dependency on their former colonizers. The aim of the committee is to help more countries become independent, self-sufficient, and to free them of their troubling history.

Discussing the ethical and legal standards for bio printing human organs for transplants.
To discuss the measures to be taken to maintain the mental health of detainees worldwide.

The World Health Assembly is the decision-making body of WHO. It is attended by delegations from all WHO Member States and focuses on a specific health agenda prepared by the Executive Board. The main functions of the World Health Assembly are to determine the policies of the Organization, appoint the Director-General, supervise financial policies, and review and approve the proposed programme budget. The Health Assembly is held annually in Geneva, Switzerland.
